RivahFest Tappahannock Boat Show

Garretts Marina exhibited several boats in the RivahFest Maritime
area on Saturday, June 18th. Sonia Muse speaks with a browsing
customer. Garretts Marina has exhibited in partnership with
Harborside Storage in all nine RivahFest Festival since it started.

Rubber Duck HQ at RivahFest

Garretts Marina supplied the customary Parker Boats grandstand at
RivahFest 2011 located on St. Margaret's School Campus. Duckmaster
John Lawler assisted by Duckette Joni Lawler provided the
Rappahannock River Rubber Duck Race commentary and inspiring music
while the ducks floated up the Rappahannock River on the last flow of
the rising tide. Three winners were pulled from the water: Elyse
Hayes of Champlain won First Prize of $1,000 with duck #443, Second
Prize of $500 was won by Raymond Atkins of Tappahannock with duck
#659; Third Prize of $250 for Cheryl Carlton of Tappahannock with duck #2539.

off on the beautiful Rappahannock River!

Robin, Anna, and Adam Muse from Rock Hill, South Carolina are taking
home a 22ft Crest 220 Caribbean powered with a new Suzuki 115 four
stroke ! They will be boating on Lake Weteree just outside of
Columbia SC! They have named the pontoon boat "Robin's Nest" !

Scott Wetzel Summer Boat

Some folks have summer homes... Scott Wetzel has a summer
boat! Scott just purchased this pre-owned Sea Fox boat from
Garrett's Marina for his family to use this summer in Virginia.
Scott's wife has a family summer home in the White Stone area where
they will locate the boat and explore the Rappahannock River and
Chesapeake Bay. They actually live all the way back in Denver,
Colorado !!! Enjoy !

Captain Rick Hall on maiden voyage



Captain Rick Hall (first mate Diane) on their maiden voyage with their new F-250 Yamaha.

Mr and Mrs Hall keep their 23 Grady White moored with Harboside Storage at Garrett's Marina. Garrett's did a complete engine re-power over the winter months.

Captain Rick is seeing first hand just how smooth and quiet the new F-250 really is. This job was custom rigged by Garrett's Marina's own Mike Carter.

Captain Jim Napier of Aylett, VA caught this nice 39 inch rockfish on November 30, 2010 in the Rappahannock River. Nice one Jim!  Jim's boat is stored at Harborside Storage and has been taken care of by the service technicians of Garrett's Marina Inc.

More Rockfish for Dinner Tonight!!


Louis Muse caught this 26 inch Rockfish near Buoy 19 on the Rappahannock River at Bowlers Wharf, just near the entrance to Garrett's Marina on Tuesday, November 9th. This rockfish was caught on a blue rattle trap. The fish weighed in at 6.5 lbs. Pretty nice one for light tackle!

A 42 inch Rockfish caught in the Rappahannock River aboard Captain Randy Sparks 29' CC Hydra-Sport on Wednesday, November 10th. Those Garrett's Marina boats just seem to catch the BIG ONES !

ACDS First Annual Rappahannock Big Rockfish Open Awards a $3,000 Prize

The Big Rockfish organizers have a lot ot celebrate with the success of their First Annual event. From left to right: Rick Garrett, Ben Rennolds, and Jeff Brooks.

Weighmaster Jim Wawner assisted by Bill Reavis (both of Big Croaker fame!) record the entries as they arrive at the dock.

First place prize of $3,000 was awarded to Mark Burnette, who's crew landed a 6.12 pound Rockfish. Second place prize of $750 went to Todd Zyglocke. Finishing in third was Maxie Rozell, receiving a prize of $250.
